The Continuous Distribution Working Group (CDWG) focuses on operational issues arising during planning and implementation of ITN continuous distribution and reflects on strategies for operationalizing key learning from continuous distribution pilots and programmes to date to strengthen country implementation.

In view of funding uncertainties, strengthening continuous distribution provides important options to consider for improving and sustaining ITN access. Continuous distribution channels include school-based, community-based, routine (through antenatal clinics and Expanded Programme on Immunization [EPI]), as well as a limited private sector provision).

Continuous Distribution Working Group co-chairs

  • Prince Owusu, who is based in Ghana, is the PMI Evolve Regional ITN technical assistance (TA) provider. He brings extensive knowledge to the CDWG of routine continuous distribution implementation through both health facilities and school-based distribution. Prior to PMI Evolve, he worked on the PMI VectorLink and Networks Projects in Ghana. Contact Prince at powusu@psighana.org
  • Christian Atta-Obeng works for the National Malaria Elimination Program of Ghana as a Vector Control Specialist with 9 year’s experience in coordinating vector control interventions like ITN distribution through both mass and continuous distribution channels, Indoor Residual Spraying and Larval Source Management as well as entomological surveillance.
