Collecting and using data and research to inform cost-effective social and behaviour change (SBC) for impact

Canal de distribución de ITN: distribución continua, distribución masiva

Publication Date: July 2026

For social and behaviour change (SBC) programmes to be effective and efficient, they need to be based on evidence. This operational guidance helps national malaria programmes and partners use existing data and research, or undertake primary information collection to design more effective, efficient and evidence-based SBC strategies for ITN distributions. Using practical examples and recommendations, the document demonstrates how data can be transformed into action to improve programme quality, maximize limited resources and achieve greater impact.

This guidance can be used to inform the SBC plan of action (SBC PoA) for ITN distributions, the SBC PoA template and guidance can be found here.
