Guidance for using a bring your own device (BYOD) strategy in ITN campaign digitalization

ITN Distribution Channel: Mass campaign distribution

Publication Date: July 2026

National malaria programmes are increasingly digitalizing many aspects of ITN distribution campaigns. However, procuring and managing large quantities of standardized mobile devices is demanding and time-consuming, and in many settings, too costly. One practical alternative is the use of personally owned mobile devices by campaign workers (BYOD). This operational guidance provides practical recommendations and considerations for the use of BYOD for NMPs and partners planning mass distribution of ITNs. It is accompanied by a number of tools that can be downloaded and adapted to suit different contexts.
